Sejarah perjalanan perubahan Ubuntu selama hampir tiga tahun terakhir yang dirangkum dalam screenshot desktop rilis Ubuntu mulai dari Ubuntu 4.10 yang pertama kali dirilis pada bulan Oktober 2004 hingga Ubuntu 7.04, yang saat ini masih berstatus beta dan rencananya akan dirilis pada April 2007.

Berikut ini adalah hasil terjemahan dokumentasi Ubuntu yang dikerjakan oleh Tim Dokumentasi/Penerjemah Ubuntu Indonesia dalam satu bulan terakhir. Beberapa dari dokumentasi tersebut tersedia dalam format HTML untuk dibaca secara online dan juga format PDF untuk Anda yang ingin men-download dokumentasi ini.

Masih ada satu dokumentasi lagi yang belum selesai terjemahannya yaitu Ubuntu Server Guide. Untuk itu saya mengundang rekan-rekan yang tertarik dengan dokumentasi agar ikut serta membantu agar terjemahan tersebut dapat segera diselesaikan. Dan semoga dengan adanya kumpulan dokumentasi berbahasa Indonesia ini akan dapat membantu perkembangan Ubuntu di Indonesia.

Selain itu Anda dapat juga men-download source dokumentasi yang ada (menggunakan format DocBook) dari repositori SVN Tim Dokumentasi. Untuk men-download silakan saja jalankan perintah berikut di dalam Terminal:

$ svn co https://svn.ubuntu-id.org/repos/docteam/trunk uid-doc

Perlu diketahui bahwa seluruh dokumentasi ini dilisensikan dengan menggunakan GNU Free Documentation License dan Creative Commons by Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 (salah satu atau kedua-duanya).

Edgy Translations Sprint

Recent news: Edgy translations now open in Rosetta

It is been quite a while since I made the last translations in Rosetta. Neither I was busy or losing interest in making the translation, but simply because my heart got attracted by something else. And now it is almost one month before the next Ubuntu release out from the toast, so this mean it will be much work to do with the translations. I thing it will the perfect time to come back and do some translations again.

For the start I will try to finish all the translations on Ubuntu documentations (Ubuntu Desktop Guide, Kubuntu Desktop Guide, Xubuntu Desktop Guide, Ubuntu Packaging Guide and Ubuntu Server Guide). The only guide that was finished when the last time I made translations was Ubuntu Desktop Guide, the rest were only half done. So just in case you’re near by the Launchpad and would like to get your hand dirty with the translations, feel free to join with me on this sprint. ;)
